What has been the "biggest" musical performance in history?

That is to ask, how many people were involved in the performance? My best guess is when orchestras and choruses from five continents played Beethoven's 9th Symphony simultaneously - that was hundreds of professional performers. That's clical. I guess for rock it would be Polyphonic Spree? Just wondering.....
