It's amazing, isn't it?

This doesn't just happen here, and I'm grateful that it doesn't happen here more often than it does, but don't you find it fascinating that when a certain segment of society feel intimidated by what they percieve is their own inability to meet a challenge they respond by going on the attack? I am not the first to have someone rail against them for their intellect and command of the language or for a covetted talent of some kind, and I'm sure many of you have seen this occur. People whose talents lie in other areas, entirely yet are jealous of or intimidated by talents they don't possess behave in ape-like fashion, going on the offensive. Unfortunately, I can't just attribute this to youth, as I've seen it in supposedly mature adults. I don't find it to be mature behaviour. Do you?
