Exponential growth problem?

I am going to rephrase a homework question to get a better idea of how to solve it. If the number of bacteria is proportional to the number of bacteria present at a given time, 100 bacteria were present initially, and 200 bacteria were present after 2 hours, how many bacteria will be present after 4 hours? Interested more in process than answer.
