Chronicles of Narnia book readers!?

Hi which is the best Narnia book besides the obvious one (lion wardrobe etc) ? How is the horse and his boy? The only one I've read is the lion witch wardrobe but i have seen the movies of prince caspian and dawn treader. Would i be able to read the silver chair and the horse boy even tho i haven't read the other books? But i know the movies... please answer :) !!
